Aloma Bayne Engleman, 57, of Honolulu, a retired restaurant manager, died March 10 in Queen's Hospital. She was born in Honolulu [Marvis Eunice Aloma Lin Kyau Marie Ching]. She is survived by sons Lance and Warner; daughters Kanani Phillips and Lindy Chock; father Henry F. Ching; sisters Betty Tollefson and Trudy Irvine; brother Albert Chock, and eight grandchildren. Memorial services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Borthwick Mortuary. Private scattering of ashes.
Rose Leong Ching, 91, of Honolulu, a homemaker, died. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by son Dr. Nathaniel, sister Helen Chang and a grandchild Natascha.
Rose Ho Ching, 86, of Honolulu, died Jan. 17, 2006. Born in Waimea, Kauai. Retired substitute teacher and State tax office employee. Survived by son Addison and his wife Sharon, brother Moses Ho and sister Alice Wong, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Henry Fook Ching, 93, of Honolulu, died June 26, 2006. Born in Honolulu. Retired Aloha Motors salesman. Survived by granddaughter, Kanani Phillips; grandsons, Warner Bayne and Lance Hookano; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Merlyn Young, Eunice Jong and Ellen Lawrence.
Ellen Ching Lawrence, 86, of Honolulu, a retired Bank of Hawaii employee, died in Nuuanu Hale Nursing Home. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by son Randall Paulson, daughter Candace G. Smith and numerous grandchildren.Private graveside services were held on March 3, 2009, at the Diamond Head Memorial Park for members of the family.
Eunice Yuen Seu Jong, 93, of Honolulu, HI, passed away on January 19, 2013 in Honolulu. Born March 2, 1919 in Waipahu, HI. She is survived by sons, Jeff (Priscilla) Jong, Les (Lynn) Jong; daughter, Brenda Richard; sister, Merlyn Young; 3 grandchildren. Burial was at at Diamond Head Memorial Park.

Harriet Haruko Ching, 77, of Torrance, California, passed away after a brief hospitilization. She is survived by daughter Reverie (Kevork), son Richard (Tiffany), and several grandchildren.
Randall Scott Paulson, 70, of Pahoa, died March 31, 2018, at Pohai Malama Hospice Care in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired carburetor mechanic in Hilo, and a heavy equipment mechanic at Pearl Harbor.
He is survived by his wife Niki G. Paulson of Pahoa; sons, Ford Irvine, Phillip Baltando; daughters, Kristy Irvine, Kaleo Baltando; sister Candice Smith; eight grandchildren.
Cecilia P. V. Ching, 84, of Honolulu, passed away.
Dr. Kenneth Sui Kee Ching, 77, an anesthesiologist in Manteca, California, passed away on September 14, 2019, from pancreatic cancer. He chose pallative care and a Hospice program instead of aggressive treatments. He passed away at his Stockton home with his family by his side. Ken opted for cremation and there was no funeral or burial. He is survived by his wife Donna, son David, sisters Georgiame and Geraldine, and brother Dr. George Ching, Jr.
Merlyn Kim Seu Young passed away in her sleep on December 22, 2020. She was 100 years old. She resided at Arcadia. Survived by son, Russell Yap; grandson, Mark Yap & great granddaughter, Keira Yap. Private services.
Nathaniel P. H. Ching, 87, of Honolulu, died July 28, 2021. Born in Honolulu. Dr. Ching was a general and thoracic surgeon in private practice at St. Francis Medical Center, an Associate Professor of Surgery at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii, and served as Chief of Surgery at St. Francis Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Clara Yuen Ching, Ph.D., his daughter Natascha Ching, M.D., son-in-law Joseph Del Rosario and his grandson Jonah Nathaniel Del Rosario. A private service will be held.
Clara Yuen Ching, Ph.D., was born and raised in Honolulu. She graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy, received a B.S. in Medical Microbiology from UH Manoa, an M.S. from the University of Wisconsin. She obtained her Ph.D. in Virology from UCLA. She established and was the Director of Immunobiology Research for the Hawaii-Interferon Biological Response Modifiers Research laboratory at St. Francis Medical Center and performed research in collaboration with her husband Nathan. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Natascha Ching, son-in-law Joseph Del Rosario and grandson Jonah Del Rosario. A private celebration of life was held.
Russell Choon Fah Yap 74, of Honolulu, died in Honolulu on June 15, 2023. He was born in Honolulu.
Donna Dang Ching, 84, of Stockton, California, died on January 3, 2024. She was born in Honolulu.
Georgiame Ching Bailey, 85, of Riverside, California, died on August 24, 2025. She was born in Honolulu.
