Ching Cousins
Ching Cousins

Aloha Mai Kākou!

We are the grandchildren of Kim Sheong Ching and Kim-Fung Chai who emigrated to the Hawaiian Islands from Canton, China. Our parents made significant contributions to the Islands, developing and/or working for many businesses that no longer exist in the Islands but nevertheless had a significant impact on the future of Hawai‘i, including Aloha Motors, Fred L. Waldron, Ltd., The 49th State Recording Company, Lambert & Cole, Kodak, Oahu Service and Repair Shop and Kalihi Super Market. Some of us grew up in the Islands, while others spent their childhoods in California and Washington. As adults, we have settled in Hawai‘i, California and Alaska. Some of us have had better success keeping in touch with others within our group of cousins but we nevertheless share the Ching bond.

This website provides an opportunity for the Ching Cousins to share our legacy and to learn more about each other and our life experiences.

This website also provides an opportunity for succeeding generations – the children of the Ching Cousins and their children – to learn more about their heritage and previous generations of Chings – their parents, grandparents, and/or great-grandparents.
